The first release of Things 3 for Mac, including these headline features:

• ALL-NEW DESIGN: How it looks, how it works, and how it feels – Things has been completely redesigned, with more clarity, improved workflows, better structure, and delightful animations. It’s a to-do list like no other.
• PROJECT HEADINGS: It’s so much easier to handle your projects now that you can break them up with headings. Use them to create categories, milestones, or whatever you need – just give each one a name and drag your to-dos underneath. Instantly you’ve got a nice, clean structure for your list, and the plan becomes perfectly clear.
• CHECKLISTS: Some things take several steps to complete but don’t require a full-blown project. Now you can use Checklists to break down the finer details of a to-do. Use them for shopping lists, when packing your bag for a trip, or to detail a process at work so you won’t miss a critical step.
• CALENDAR INTEGRATION: Display calendar events alongside your to-dos and stay on top of your schedule. They will show at the top of your Today list, and for each day in Upcoming, where you plan the week ahead. …

• Full compatibility with OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
• New! Support for El Capitan’s new Split View mode – click and hold the green zoom button to move Things into the left or right pane.
• New! Support for spring-loading lists in the sidebar via Force click – drag a to-do over a list in the sidebar, click deeper to open that list, and then position the to-do exactly where you’d like. (This feature requires El Capitan and a Mac with a Force Touch trackpad.)
• Adjustments for El Capitan’s new San Francisco font.
• Fixed an issue where Daily Review items that were previously edited on an iOS device could reappear in the Mac’s Daily Review after a sync.
• Improved handling of emails dragged into Things from Mail on El Capitan.
• Various smaller tweaks and fixes for El Capitan.
• The app now requires OS X 10.9 or later.

• Added a new preference for the Today Widget (in General prefs pane and also in the widget itself) to allow Things to be automatically launched.
• Fixed an issue where Quick Entry with Autofill would not work properly with Apple Mail on OS X Yosemite.
• Fixed an issue where non-English sidebar headings could appear truncated unnecessarily on OS X Yosemite.
• Fixed an issue where Handoff would not work for inactive projects previously viewed on an iOS device.
• Fixed an issue where Handoff would not work for projects/areas previously viewed on an iOS device if the corresponding sidebar sections are collapsed on Mac.
• Fixed an issue where collapsing or expanding a section in the sidebar would crash the app in OS X 10.7 and 10.8.
• Added missing localizations for the ‘x items’ label in the Schedule dialog.
