Bug fixes

• Importing audio with the setting "Import as is, disable stretch" no longer affects pitch if sample rate differs in samples and song

• Plugin Delay Compensation did not work when a plugin with latency was placed after an Instrument inside a Combinator

Track Panel bug fixes

• Fixed a bug where it wasn’t possible to add Utilities to the Master Section in Track Panel if empty

• Fixed an issue where the Master Level tooltip in Track Panel showed numeric values instead of dB values

Navigation & Layout bug fixes

• Fixed an issue with area sizes not being remembered. E.g. when having had a Rack and/or Mixer in the main window (not in separate window), Reason now remembers the last size of that area

Sequencer bug fixes

• Fixed an issue where a Folder Clip would unintentionally expand when dragged/moved

• Fixed an UI issue where dragging a clip vertically out of a folder track didn’t refresh the graphics until the mouse was released

• Fixed an issue where a Folder clip got deselected after having moved it — the child clips were selected instead

• Fixed a bug which cut off the automation value when creating another automation lane as a clip was opened for editing

• Fixed an issue in the sequencer track list where the static value input field box shifted right/out when the Editor was closed

• Fixed a Sequencer issue where the selection was extended when moving clips over an unselected clip

Navigation & Layout

Track Panel

• New area in the Sequencer that shows an overview of the selected Track in the Track List

• Create, move, and delete Effect and Player devices for selected sequencer track

• Button for browsing patches for a given device

• Button for viewing a given device in the Rack

• Button for bypassing a given effect

• Send Effect section for quick access to send levels and creation

• Mix Channel Fader section for quick access to level, panning, mute, and solo

• If there are splits or other parallel signal paths, buttons to toggle between those appear in the Track Panel

Rack per Track

• New default setting for Rack sorting, can be toggled under Options > Rack Settings > Rack per Track

• In this mode, when creating a new audio track or instrument, a new Rack column is also created

• When turning Rack per Track on in an existing song, Reason will sort all devices into separate Rack columns

Sequencer

Track Folders

• Tracks can now be organized into Track Folders

• A Track Folder can contain up to two additional levels of Track Folders

• All clips in a Track Folder are represented by a Track Folder Clip. These clips can be moved, copied, and cut for fast arrangement of many tracks at once …

Improvements

• Improved support for Intel’s Performance Hybrid Architecture on Windows

• Browser defaults to Side Panel in new songs (applicable for new users with no stored preference file)

• Speakers/Headphones Output has higher priority as default audio interface than Built-In Microphone in + Speakers/Headphones Output—this is to avoid feedback. This applies to Mac users only.

• Reason icon is now fully compatible with the new look offered in macOS 26 (Tahoe)

Bugs fixed

Browser

• Fixed an issue where the sample browser in some situations didn’t default to open from the last opened location

• Fixed a bug where the browser didn’t properly handle saving/restoring sample slot browser states when cancelling browsing

• Side Panel Browser will now remember any selection and search text when closed/opened

• Special Windows folders (e.g. the Library/Music folder) are now properly handled by the indexer and no longer causes folder scanning to hang

• Fixed an issue where Rack Extension content could disappear from the Browser index when running Reason continuously for more than a week

• Fixed an issue where adding Categories/Tags to Patches on an external HD wouldn't appear in the Browser

• Optimized search for items displayed in the Tree View. The speed increase should be particularly noticeable when browsing folders with many files in sub-folders …

Improvements

• Deprecated OpenGL (used for rendering Reason’s graphics) in favor of Metal on macOS and ANGLE with Direct3D(D3D11) on Windows. There are several improvements related to these changes:

  • Better invalidation logic, meaning only changed areas are rendered—not areas in between

  • Drawing of waveforms improved

  • Speed optimizations on documents with many devices

• Audio rendering performance improved for DX and MME drivers which is most noticeable on newer Intel processors

• Save Song dialog is now a modal dialog in Reason (Windows)

Improvements for new users

These changes primarily affect new users:

• Reason and Reason Companion are now bundled into one installer.

• The Setup Wizard has been removed

• Rack Extension license data is now automatically downloaded

• Changes to Preferences/Settings:

  • Defaults to the Audio tab

  • Microsoft Teams and Zoom audio drivers now have lower priority as default Audio Device

  • Reason Companion no longer defaults to automatically open at startup (this can be toggled in the Preferences/Settings)

  • ‘Open last song on startup’ is on by default (this can be toggled in the Preferences/Settings)

• On-screen Piano Keys is enabled by default

• On-screen Piano Keys default position no longer covers the transport bar …

• Fixed an issue where the Reason GUI was slow when rendering very zoomed in graphics

• Fixed an issue where Ripley’s feedback Limiter button function was reversed

• Reason now remembers area splitter positions between the main areas (Mixer, Rack, Sequencer)

• Browser: When selecting 'Browse Samples' for an empty slot, the browser will start where you last loaded a sample. For example, if you load a kick sample for one Redrum slot and then move on to load a snare in the next slot, the browser will stay in the same location.

  • This change does not affect slots that already has a sample loaded.
  • This change does not affect loading samples from focusless browser or by drag and drop.
  • This also works for 'Browse REX Loop' and 'Browse Drum Patch' (Kong)

• Fixed several crashes with Reason Rack Plugin in Logic 11.2.x on Intel Macs running macOS Sequoia

• Fixed an issue where Reason Rack Plugin could crash Logic Pro on macOS Tahoe

• Fixed an issue where the Browser Indexer would be slow to Quit. This was more evident if there were lots of files in a folder, and as a consequence Reason became unresponsive

• Fixed an issue with Japanese text rendering on Mac where the text was positioned too high up

• Fixed an issue where Studio One 7 became unresponsive after re-instantiating Reason Rack Plugin (VST3 or AU) on an instrument track …

Bugs fixed

• Fixed an issue where dragging devices from the Device window could be very slow

• Reason stayed resident in memory after quitting (Windows). This was related to the indexer getting stuck in an endless loop if it could no longer connect to network drives or external hard drives, which had disconnected

• Fixed an issue where ReFills were needlessly rescanned. When having reconnected an external drive, it would be completely deep-rescanned (including ReFills) even if it has previously been connected. This could take a lot of time

• Fixed a graphics bug which occurred when moving a Browser window during ‘text input focus’

• Detach Browser button was masked by text when Browser was resized small

• Some samples from ReFills showed a strange length in Browser

• Folded Players were not displayed in the rack when clicking on their sequencer lane

• Locations headings got cutoff when docked Browser was resized smaller

• Browser "Create" button when inactive had the wrong color shade

• Fixed a crash that could occur when trying to join audio clips

• Performed some maintenance on the automation of Rack Extensions parameters

• Fixed an error that was caused by "Too many open files”
