OpenClaw 2026.10.1-beta.1

OpenClaw 2026.10.1-beta.1 verbessert Sessions und Memory (u. a. erhaltene Nutzungsdaten, schrittweise Migration von Embedding-Caches), stellt die Inline-Wiedergabe lokaler Videos wieder her, behebt Telegram- und Sprachantwort-Probleme und macht Updates sowie Doctor robuster.

2026.10.1

Highlights

  • Sessions and memory: preserved usage across registry changes, delivered worker attachments from remote workspaces, prevented queued cancellations and transcript aliases from stalling active turns, kept continuation signatures aligned, and migrated embedding caches in bounded batches with oversized-row reporting. (#164217, #164219, #163708, #164230, #164251, #164289, #164287, #164303) Thanks @vincentkoc.
  • Replies and media: restored inline playback for local videos, replaced rejected media links with useful errors, kept Telegram progress updates free of preview cards, and fixed speech-only replies when reasoning is enabled. (#164137, #163727, #164285, #164256) Thanks @ivan-magda, @obviyus, and @Twilight-Networks.
  • Updates and Doctor: improved serving-verdict recovery guidance, kept repairs working with read-only managed config, removed repeated config, backup, metadata, and pnpm-root probes, reported successful cleanup as progress without corrupting JSON output, and treated a still-starting Gateway as a warning. (#164193, #161924, #164235, #162259, #164182, #164186, #164183, #164184, #163477, #164261, #162236, #164312) Thanks @DonnieFi, @JD8855122, @Patrick-Erichsen, and @waynegault. …

OpenClaw 2026.9.6: macOS-Build wegen Startabsturz neu erstellt

macOS app rebuilt 2026-09-24: the original 2026.9.6 macOS build crashed at launch (#156861) and was replaced at 09:52 UTC by a rebuilt, notarized 2026.9.6 build with the fix (#156881). Download the DMG below or update from 2026.9.5 in the app. If you installed the earlier 2026.9.6 build and it does not launch, install the DMG once. The npm package is unchanged.

This is a gateway-only extended-stable release, which is our current equivalent to LTS. This release is OpenClaw from the end of July 2026, plus critical security updates, reliability and performance fixes, and features like new model support. The latest version of OpenClaw at the time of this release is 2026.9.5

2026.7.35

Fixes

  • Doctor plugin registry: preserve the complete bundled plugin inventory when Doctor creates or repairs registry state, so default Browser, Canvas, pairing, file-transfer, phone-control, Talk voice, and Bonjour plugins remain available after restart. State-migration discovery now also recovers from the partial registry written by 2026.7.34 while retaining external plugin install records. Backported from #136045. Thanks @wangmiao0668000666.

Complete contribution record

This extended-stable follow-up was selected from a complete 1,418-commit audit after the prior 2026.7.34 audit cursor. No other defect observed during clean install or the 2026.6.35 upgrade required a July-line backport.

Cumulative July extended-stable notes

OpenClaw 2026.7.33 and 2026.7.34 were unstable extended-stable builds and were intentionally not published as GitHub Releases. Because 2026.7.35 is the first GitHub Release for the July maintenance line, it includes their complete changelogs below.

OpenClaw 2026.6.35: letztes Extended-Stable-Release vom Juni 2026

2026.6.35

This is the final June 2026 Extended Stable (LTS) release.

Highlights

  • Safer provider and channel boundaries: bundled providers and channel adapters now bound untrusted response bodies, reject oversized inputs before expensive work, and preserve safe recovery when transports fail. (#119942) Thanks @RomneyDa, @vincentkoc, @Pick-cat, @RileyJJY, @ZengWen-DT, @Monkey-wusky, @chengzhichao-xydt, @mushuiyu886, @masatohoshino, @moguangyu5-design, @sunlit-deng, @ZOOWH, @NianJiuZst, @Alix-007, @aniruddhaadak80, @eleqtrizit, @yetval, @rvdlaar, @litang9, @machine3at, @miorbnli, @sallyom, @obviyus, @hugenshen, @cursoragent, @cxbAsDev, @wangmiao0668000666, @lsr911, and @jalfaro2876.
  • More reliable long-running delivery: agent, gateway, retry, and channel paths now handle cancellation, retries, partial sends, and process-stream failures without losing work or replaying unsafe operations. (#119942) Thanks @RomneyDa, @vincentkoc, @Pick-cat, @RileyJJY, @ZengWen-DT, @Monkey-wusky, @chengzhichao-xydt, @mushuiyu886, @masatohoshino, @moguangyu5-design, @sunlit-deng, @ZOOWH, @NianJiuZst, @Alix-007, @aniruddhaadak80, @eleqtrizit, @yetval, @rvdlaar, @litang9, @machine3at, @miorbnli, @sallyom, @obviyus, @hugenshen, @cursoragent, @cxbAsDev, @wangmiao0668000666, @lsr911, and @jalfaro2876. …

2026.9.3

Highlights

  • Safer updates: rehearse core and plugin changes in isolated candidate state before activation, support eligible 2026.9.2 migrations, and recover abandoned update records without stopping a healthy matching Gateway. Related #136997. (#138839, #141109, #141175, #141562)
  • Performance: preserve warm prompt caches, reduce unnecessary work during cold session updates and memory search, and reuse worker builds between sessions. Related #140681. (#140449, #140730, #140799, #140840, #141141) Thanks @justinkirklin-gif, @NianJiuZst, and @obviyus.
  • Skill Workshop: keep skills in one persistent agent-owned collection across workspaces, compare complete skill instructions, and retire missing-draft suggestions safely through Doctor. Related #135291. (#135528, #139248, #140300, #141009) Thanks @khaisis and @obviyus.
  • Browser tabs, live and native: watch agent pages repaint and open external links in native Mac tabs that remain with their window across chat switches. (#140988, #141031)
  • Your provider accounts, together: manage connected accounts and supported account priority directly in Models settings. (#132451) Thanks @jesse-merhi.
  • Share selected conversations: explicitly publish a revocable read-only view of a session’s existing and future conversation text, accessible to anyone with its public link. (#139489) …

OpenClaw 2026.9.2: schnellerer Chat, GPT-6 Astra, bessere Wiederherstellung

2026.9.2

Highlights

  • Faster, more responsive chat: keep chat, dashboards, and session interactions responsive while long transcripts and disk usage are processed, with direct dashboard lookup, less cold-load work, and durable history reads outside the Gateway event loop. (#136862, #138094, #138669, #138888, #138860, #138894)
  • Reliable upgrades and recovery: keep active settings, enabled skills, and default-agent ownership in automatic updates, restore Gateway restarts after Git updates, and report outcomes with actionable recovery guidance. Related #138760. (#138837, #138730, #138781, #136588, #136995) Thanks @fuller-stack-dev and @jason-allen-oneal.
  • GPT-6 Astra support: select openai/gpt-6-astra with an OpenAI API-key profile or an eligible ChatGPT/Codex account, with text and image input, Responses tool calls, and supported reasoning controls; subscription availability follows successful account discovery. Related #137549. (#137550, #137561)
  • Replies survive restarts: recover active, queued, and delegated replies after Gateway restarts without letting one completed reply discard another’s recovery marker, and keep continuation instructions through compaction and retry attempts. Related #138518, #138564. (#138071, #137606, #136236, #138519, #138565) Thanks @vincentkoc. …

2026.9.1

Highlights

  • Diagrams in every chat: Mermaid blocks now render as diagrams in the Control UI and in the native macOS, iOS, and Android apps, with enlarge previews and a retry when a diagram fails to render on mobile. (#134913, #135746, #135470, #135342)
  • From install to chat in one prompt: fresh installs (including npx openclaw@latest) get a quick-start lane that detects existing Claude Code or Codex logins and API keys, verifies them live, and opens the web dashboard from a foreground Gateway; the full wizard stays available as Custom setup. (#134221) Thanks @fuller-stack-dev.
  • Personal skill libraries on shared Gateways: keep your own skills beside the workspace set with openclaw skills library, import them from ZIP archives, and share or publish them per identity on team Gateways. Related #133602. (#134068)
  • Updates that leave you working: openclaw update now rolls back the npm candidate when the post-update Doctor fails, preserves your configuration and secret references across a failed upgrade, hands failures to a built-in triage agent, waits for plugin readiness before restarting, accepts npm 12 local archives, lets agent-launched updates finish outside the Gateway process tree, and proceeds without a Gateway service instead of refusing when no service manager exists (users on 2026.8.2 without a service manager should run openclaw update --no-restart once). Related #134204, #135655. (#135462, #134490, #134865, #134699,…

2026.8.2

Highlights

  • Your Home agent, beside your work: open Home in a right or bottom dock with Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+H, keep your current page in view, and preview or remove its work-context snapshot or attach selected text to your message. Related #133632. (#133676)
  • A desktop companion for Linux: install the .deb or AppImage on x86-64 Linux, connect to a local or remote Gateway, and open Quick Chat from the system tray or an X11 keyboard shortcut. AppImage updates are signature-verified; .deb installs remain under your package manager. See the Linux guide.
  • Start work without switching pages: create and run a background session from New Session, keep its selected local, cloud, or paired-device placement, and open it from the completion notice. Related #128037. (#128050) Thanks @Takhoffman.
  • Safer upgrades: preserve newer configuration, stop incomplete session migrations before claiming success, and recover a stopped Gateway after a failed update when the installed package or rollback is verified safe. Related #118244, #90551, #134206. (#134025, #134228, #119516) Thanks @obviyus, @stuart-minion-ai, @shakkernerd, @zyw02, @Issue-Hunter, @cursoragent, and @sercada. …

2026.8.1

2026.8.1 release notes

Update help: If the automatic update fails, use a local coding harness to help complete the update, diagnose any migration errors, and verify that the Gateway starts correctly. Back up your configuration and state before making changes.

  • Sessions beyond your Gateway: run work on paired devices or cloud workers, move the session workspace with it, and reuse warm machines and project seeds for later cloud sessions. (#123280, #127752, #131744, #132374)
  • Follow work as it happens: keep a durable session progress card through reloads and follow subagent activity and accumulating edits across web and native chat. (#125125, #125438, #125442, #125444, #121549, #121840, #121815, #121813)

2026.8.1-beta.4 (mistakenly published as 2026.9.1-beta.1)

[!WARNING] This package was mistakenly published under the version 2026.9.1-beta.1. It is actually 2026.8.1-beta.4 and should not be interpreted as newer than stable 2026.8.1. Stable users should install or update to 2026.8.1.

Highlights

  • Gateway restart recovery: preserve admitted turns across repeated Gateway restarts so restart-safe runs continue through each checkpoint and deliver their final response. (#130491) Thanks @jalehman.
  • Gateway config-write reliability: keep committed config writes pending through watcher handoff so same-write reloads settle against the observed generation instead of failing during source transfer. (#131515)
  • Codex managed runtime: update the bundled Codex runtime to 0.150.1 across Linux, macOS, and Windows while retaining platform-specific package resolution and current compaction behavior. (#130685) Thanks @vincentkoc.
  • Linux installation reliability: provision the stable Node 24 LTS stream and constrain RPM installs to the configured NodeSource repository so Linux setup cannot select an incompatible prerelease. PR 130369. Thanks @RomneyDa and @vincentkoc.
  • Worker recovery: re-arm admission-deadline launches, terminalize dead-worker turns, and defer debris cleanup so interrupted delegated work settles visibly. (#130446) …

OpenClaw 2026.8.1-beta.2: Secrets an HTTPS-Hosts binden, SQLite-Snapshots

OpenClaw 2026.8.1-beta.2 bindet Secrets an bestimmte HTTPS-Zielhosts, unterstützt GPT-5.6 Ultra mit Runtime-Wechsel, ergänzt SQLite-Snapshots per openclaw backup sqlite und isoliert benannte macOS-App-Profile.

2026.8.1

Highlights

  • Secret egress host binding: bind each shared-store secret to exact HTTPS destination hosts across CLI, Gateway RPC, and Control UI so unbound sentinel substitution fails closed before plaintext egress. Thanks @shakkernerd.
  • GPT-5.6 Ultra and runtime switching: support Sol, Terra, and Luna across OpenClaw and Codex engines; keep model, runtime, and thinking selection atomic through /model and fallback; and add live matrix coverage for both harnesses. Thanks @anyech and @vincentkoc.
  • Channel plugin ingress monitors: add a shared plugin SDK monitor for durable admission, polling, pruning, claim identity validation, adoption handoff, and shutdown, and migrate IRC, Synology Chat, and Google Chat to the shared lifecycle. Thanks @vincentkoc and @shakkernerd.
  • SQLite snapshots: add openclaw backup sqlite create|list|verify|restore for compact, verified global and per-agent database artifacts with fresh-target-only restore. Thanks @giodl73-repo.
  • macOS app profiles: isolate named app instances across state, preferences, Keychain, Gateway services, and duplicate-instance ownership while keeping host-global login and node services untouched. Thanks @shakkernerd and @vincentkoc. …
