Developer and creator Tom Shaw sat down with Meta’s Head of Infrastructure, Santosh Janardhan, to talk about Meta’s approach to building infrastructure to power the future of AI.

Santosh explained why Meta is more than just a software company, how AI is different from any other technology, and why data centers are essential for building AI.

They’ll cover questions like:

  • How does Meta power its AI infrastructure?
  • What is a gigawatt of energy?
  • How does Meta decide what kind of chips to use for their data centers?
  • Why is Meta so focused on AI right now?
  • What are the benefits of building your own data centers?

and more.

Keeping young people safe on our apps is among the most important work we do, and it never stops.

Sophisticated bad actors who try to exploit children online don’t stay in one place. These determined predators move across different platforms, and change their tactics to evade detection. Staying ahead requires constant adaptation and that is why we are continuously evolving our tools, sharing signals across the industry, and reporting offenders to law enforcement so they can be held accountable.

How We Responded

Whenever we detect or are made aware of potential child sexual abuse or exploitative content on our platform, we investigate it. If the content violates our policies, we remove it and in cases where the signals indicate malicious sharing by predators, we disable the accounts behind it. We then report the content to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), in line with applicable law. But we haven’t stopped there. We have been doing strategic network disruptions on child safety for years – our team of experts including former FBI investigators who conduct manual investigations to proactively uncover, remove and report networks of predatory accounts. We continue to investigate how these networks behave so we can act against them at a network level, not just account by account. …

Forum is a purpose-built app we’re exploring for the people who want to go deeper on Facebook Groups. Synced with your groups on Facebook, Forum brings them together in one place so you can see what’s new and jump into the conversations you care about. It also introduces new tools for the admins who bring these communities to life, and we’ll be sharing more on how we’re building for admins in the coming weeks.

We started testing Forum in May, and today we’re introducing new features that make it even easier to tap into firsthand experience from people in your communities.

Forum is available to download in the US on iOS and Android — just log in with your Facebook account to find your groups and discover new ones.

A Fresh Take On Group Member Recognition

At Meta, we want the same thing as parents and educators: to ensure teens have safe, age-appropriate experiences online, and that the time teens spend on our apps is meaningful. That’s why we introduced Teen Accounts for Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and Threads, and why we recently announced an agreement with 52 bipartisan state Attorneys General across the US that will further support teens and parents with new restrictions.

Last year, we launched the School Partnership Program in partnership with the International Society for Technology in Education and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ISTE+ASCD) to help protect teens from safety issues like online bullying. This program makes it easier for educators to report potential teen safety issues directly to us, and we’re proud to share that we’ve partnered with nearly 17,000 schools so far. …

Muse for Small Business: neue Skills und Connectors

Earlier this month we introduced Muse, a personal AI agent available in the US and Canada that completes tasks on your behalf. Today, we’re expanding it with a collection of new skills and connectors inside Muse to help people run their businesses.

Small businesses have been growing on our apps for nearly two decades. They told us they’re short on hours, not ideas. So we built Muse for Small Business to help get work done with the tools they already use.

Tom Mulholland, owner of Mulholland Grocery in Malvern, Iowa, said, “I work about 65 hours a week, and there are so many things where I’m the only one who can do them. I need to free up time for the work that actually makes my business money: cutting the steaks, making the sausages. I’m very good at what I do, but that doesn’t mean I’m good at all of the different roles a small business owner has to play, and Muse is taking over a few of them.”

Built to Work With the Tools People Already Use To Run Their Businesses

Muse can connect your Instagram professional account analytics, Facebook Pages, and Meta ad accounts in a few clicks, and it already understands your business: what you sell, what your brand sounds like, and what customers keep asking you about. …

Meta startet regionale Anti-Betrugs-Kampagne „One Step Ahead“

As scams grow more sophisticated and difficult to detect, keeping people safe takes more than technology alone – it also requires education. Today, we’re sharing progress on our “One Step Ahead” anti-scam education campaign designed to help people across Asia-Pacific take simple, practical steps to protect their accounts and know where to turn for help when they encounter a potential scam.

The campaign was designed alongside more than 25 local safety organizations, law enforcement and government agencies across the region, and rolled out across Facebook and Instagram with three simple principles at its core: 1) safety advice should be practical, 2) easy to act on, and 3) come from a source people trust.

Since launching in May 2026, the campaign has reached more than 303 million people across 18 countries, delivering over 1.3 billion impressions and more than 1.2 million link clicks — one of the largest online-safety education efforts Meta has run in the region.

The campaign promotes security tools available on Meta apps that people can use to increase their online safety:

  • Two-factor authentication adds a second check at login, so a stolen password isn’t enough to get in.
  • Passkeys let people sign in with the fingerprint, face or PIN they already use – passkeys can’t be stolen, shared, guessed or reused. …

Meta startet die Meta Enterprise Platform

Meta startet die Meta Enterprise Platform, die zunächst Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API und Muse Code für Unternehmen und Entwickler bündelt und von Chirantan „CJ“ Desai geleitet wird.

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared the following:

We believe superintelligence will create significant new opportunities for all people and businesses. Meta already serves billions of people at scale and helps hundreds of millions of businesses reach customers. Today we are starting the next major pillar of our business, Meta Enterprise Platform, to help businesses use AI to grow and transform in new ways as well.

Meta Enterprise Platform will use our strengths that few other companies have: advanced models, leading agents, large-scale infrastructure, and years of working closely with many businesses. Initially, we will focus on bringing our full technology stack, including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, Muse Code, and more to businesses and developers to help them grow.

To lead this effort, I’m excited that Chirantan “CJ” Desai will join Meta as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, reporting directly to me. CJ is an experienced enterprise leader with a track record of building full-stack software and delivering results in AI, infrastructure, business applications, and security. He has an extensive industry network that we look forward to partnering with. He joins us from MongoDB, where he was CEO and President. Before that he led product and engineering at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as President and COO. …

We’re building personal AI agents for everyone and a whole family of devices that let you connect with them from anywhere.

Bringing Muse to AI Glasses

We launched Muse, a first-of-a-kind personal AI agent that proactively helps you meet your goals, earlier this month. At Connect, we announced we’re bringing Muse to our AI glasses in the coming months, so you’ll soon have easy access to your personal agent wherever you go. Mark Zuckerberg showed how Muse keeps getting better with new features, connectors, and a state-of-the-art model that brings your Muse to life.

  • Muse on AI glasses: You’ll soon be able to say your agent’s name, and Muse can act on what you’re looking at, so you won’t have to describe what’s in front of you. Ask about a product on a shelf, a flier on a wall, or a long list of school supplies, and Muse can take action.
  • Voice mode: Talking to an agent as capable as Muse is different from voice chat with an assistant. You can have a long, in-depth conversation, and Muse gets work done in the background while you’re still talking.
