What's New

• Turning Sounds off now silences new mail too. Before, new mail still chimed with Sounds switched off. Muting a single account with "None" now also silences its notification banner.
• Mark everything read in All Inboxes. Right-click All Inboxes and choose Mark All as Read to clear every included account at once.
• Tell new mail from unread mail in the tray. Turn on "Show new mail in amber on the tray icon" (Settings → Behavior → Notifications). An amber dot means mail you haven't seen yet. A green dot means unread mail you've already seen.

What's New

• Settings has been reorganised into three groups (Interface, Behavior, Application), so every setting has one obvious place. If something isn't where you remember it, search for it.
• Search your settings. Type in the box at the top of Settings to find any option, including words from its explanation.
• Choose where Melia opens. Start in your first account's inbox, where you left off, All Inboxes, a saved view, or a specific inbox (Settings → Behavior → Startup & Window).
• All privacy switches in one place. Blocking remote images, tracking pixels and read receipts, and where blocked senders' mail goes, now live in Settings → Behavior → Privacy & Security instead of the Trust Center.
• Logos for your contacts. When a contact has no photo, Contacts offers the logo from their company's website, and you choose whether to use it.
• Shorter Settings pages. Long explanations now sit behind a small ⓘ you can click when you want the detail.

What's New

• Calendar invitations now show as a card above the message: the time in your time zone, how it repeats, the location, a Join button for Meet, Teams and Zoom, and what changed when an update arrives.
• Accept, Maybe or Decline right from the card. Your answer goes to the organizer by email, waits in the Outbox when you're offline, and the card tells you if it couldn't be delivered.
• Add to Calendar puts the event into your desktop's calendar app.
• View source (Ctrl+U) shows a message's raw source, or a decoded version you can actually read.
• Invitations, newsletters and other designed emails no longer get squashed against the left edge, and their small icons show at the right size.
• Inbox rules that check the message body now look only at the text, so a rule can no longer match words hidden inside an attachment.
• Print and Save as PDF now include Cc and Bcc.
• Snap: Melia draws with your graphics card again, for smoother scrolling. Since 1.1.391 it had quietly fallen back to the processor.

What's New

• Sent mail now shows who you Bcc'd, in the message header and in the list when a message went out Bcc-only.
• In Sent, pressing @ filters to everything you sent to that person (and then to their domain).
• Save-to folders: pin folders in Settings → Reading → Attachments, then right-click any attachment to save it straight into one, with no dialog. Alt+A saves all of a message's attachments into the first.
• An optional attachment reminder (Settings → Compose): if you mention an attachment but haven't added one, the attach button glows and Send checks with you first.

• Mail from senders you've banished can now be deleted permanently instead of moved to Spam or Trash. Choose "Delete permanently" in the Trust Center.
• Hovering a toolbar button now shows its keyboard shortcut, matching your shortcut settings.

What's New

• Create your own key. Make a new OpenPGP key right in Melia, from Account Settings → Encryption. It's ready to sign and read mail straight away, and Melia helps you back it up safely.
• Remember your passphrase. Choose "Remember on this computer" for any key and Melia stops asking for its passphrase, even after a restart. It's off unless you turn it on.
• Drafts from other apps. Drafts started in another email app, such as Thunderbird, now open for editing instead of showing as ordinary messages.
• Switching accounts while writing. Changing the From account on a draft now moves the draft to that account properly, so nothing you type gets lost.
• Flatpak drag and drop. In the Flatpak version, dragging files in now explains why it can't work there and offers a one-click way to choose them instead.

What's New

• Read encrypted mail. Melia now opens OpenPGP and S/MIME encrypted messages sent to you, once you import your key in Account Settings → Encryption.
• See who really signed it. Signed messages show whether the signature holds, both on the message and in the message list.
• Sign what you send. Turn signing on for any message with the new seal in the composer (Ctrl+Shift+K), or choose per account when new messages start signed. Melia picks the right key for the address you send from.
• Your keys, made easy. Import keys by dragging them onto Account Settings → Encryption, or straight from an email attachment, and share your public key in one click.
• Smoother when you go offline. Melia notices a lost connection quickly, reconnects on its own, and sends anything waiting in the Outbox as soon as you're back online.
• A signed message stays signed. If your key needs its passphrase again while a signed message waits in the Outbox, Melia asks for it rather than sending the message unsigned.
• Tidier drafts. A message waiting in the Outbox no longer also shows up in Drafts, and a sent message no longer comes back as a draft.
• Clear answers from your mail server. If your server refuses a message, Melia tells you right away instead of quietly retrying.

What's New

• Search smarter: combine words in the message list search with || (either), && (both) and ! (leave out), group them with parentheses, and use quotes for exact text. A line under the search box shows how your search was read, and the ? button explains it all.
• Brand logos: turn on "Show verified brand logos" in Settings → Layout to see a company's certified logo instead of its initials. Only logos proven by a certificate are shown, and never on mail in Spam.
• Easier attachments: slide across the attachment icons to read each name, or click the paperclip to see every file with its name and size, and download any or all of them.
• Every attachment now shows the right icon, including calendar invites, contact cards, attached emails and presentations.
• Drafts started in another email app now sync back to it once you edit them in Melia.

• Drafts started in Outlook or another email app now keep their tables, fonts and colours when you edit them in Melia, and a notice appears if anything can't be carried over.
• When an email bounces because an address was mistyped, you can fix the address and resend it straight from the bounce notice, and remove the misspelled address from your contacts.
• The formatting menu now includes a font picker, with fonts your recipients will actually have.
• Pressing Enter twice now leaves exactly one blank line, both in the editor and in the email your recipient receives.
• Coloured text stays coloured in dark mode, lightened just enough to stay readable.
• Emails that ask for a particular font now display more faithfully, including serif and fixed-width text.

• Snap users now get hardware-accelerated graphics. Melia uses the system's graphics drivers instead of drawing everything with the processor, which makes the interface noticeably smoother.
• If those drivers are missing, Melia still starts and runs as before, and Settings, System now tells you which way it is running.
• Settings opens faster. It no longer looks up your installed fonts unless you go to the Fonts page.
• The font pickers open instantly, even with hundreds of fonts installed.
• The snap download is smaller.

• A draft you send is removed rather than left sitting in Deleted Items.
• Drafts written as plain text open with their text, instead of an empty message.
• If a message cannot be sent, Melia says so and keeps your draft.

What's New

• Melia can now connect to mail servers that use a certificate from a private or company certificate authority. Add the certificate to the account under Account Settings → Certificates.
• If a connection fails because the server's certificate isn't trusted, Melia now offers to add it for you.
• You can also choose to trust the certificates already installed on your computer, in Settings → System. (Not available in the Flatpak version, which can't see them.)

What's New

• Contacts is now a proper address book. It opens in its own window, sorts by name with alphabetical headers instead of grouping by email domain, and lets you choose between "Last, First" and "First Last".
• Add a photo to any contact. Crop it how you like, and it shows up wherever that person appears. Photos come and go with vCard import and export, and travel in your backup file.
• Birthdays. Store a birthday on a contact and Melia quietly lets you know when one is coming up.
• Hover over a contact to send, edit or delete it without opening it first. Ctrl+click the trash to skip the confirmation, and Ctrl+S saves an open contact.
• Spell check in your language. Settings → Compose now lists every language available, downloads the one you want on the spot, and lets you check several at once.
• Sender avatars. A contact's photo, or their initials, beside messages in the list, in the reading pane and in Contacts. One switch turns them all off.
• A send that fails now comes back to you. If a message can't be sent when the undo window ends, Melia reopens it and tells you what the server said, instead of letting it disappear.

• Press @ on a message to see only mail from that sender. Press it again to see everything from their domain, and once more to show all mail again. It works in any folder and across All Inboxes, and you can also right-click the sender's address.
• Select All in that view selects every matching message, so you can archive a sender's whole backlog at once.
• When you archive messages from several accounts at once, Melia now tells you how many were left behind because Archive is turned off for their account.

What's New

• You can now choose how long you have to undo a delete, move, archive or send: 5, 8, 10, 15 or 20 seconds, in Settings > Sync > Undo window.
• Undo can now play a sound of its own. Pick one in Settings > Sounds (it's off unless you choose one).
• Pressing E on an account without an archive folder now tells you where to set one up, instead of doing nothing.
• The undo reminder at the bottom of the window now says what just happened ("3 messages deleted"), counts down the seconds, and is easy to see in the light theme.
• Hovering over the undo reminder pauses the countdown, shown by a pause icon, for as long as you need.
• Quitting Melia right after deleting, moving or sending a message now finishes that action before closing, instead of sometimes leaving it undone.
• Fixed a rare case where a message could be sent twice if Melia was closed or quit while it was still sending.
