Firebase CLI (v15.32.1)

• The latest Firebase CLI (v15.32.1) is now available. This version updates dependencies to address security vulnerabilities, updates the Firebase SQL Connect local toolkit to v3.4.22, and includes several fixes and improvements.

Firebase Test Lab

• Firebase Test Lab is deprecated and will be fully shut down as of September 30, 2027. To maintain your testing workflows, you can migrate to the Developer Device Platform on Google Cloud. See the Developer Device Platform migration guide and FAQ for more details.

Cloud Functions

• Function kits are now available in Cloud Functions for Firebase (2nd gen). You can use function kits to package, distribute on npm, and deploy multiple configurable instances of 2nd gen functions using the Firebase CLI. To learn more, see Using a function kit from an npm package.

Firebase CLI (v15.32.0)

• The latest Firebase CLI (v15.32.0) is now available. This version introduces function kits, adds support for overriding Secret Manager secret IDs and versions in Cloud Functions .env files, adds migration tools for Firebase Extensions, and includes several fixes and improvements.

Google AI Studio integration

• The Firebase integration in Google AI Studio now supports Android apps in addition to web apps. You can automatically set up and integrate Cloud Firestore (including Rules) and Firebase Authentication into both Android and web apps.

Firebase CLI (v15.31.0)

• The latest Firebase CLI (v15.31.0) is now available. This version improves error messages when adding Firebase to projects, fixes an issue where deploys stop responding on killed runs, adds firebase-admin v14 support for SQL Connect Node SDKs, and improves Crashlytics source map handling.

SDK Releases

Firebase CLI (v15.30.2)

• The latest Firebase CLI (v15.30.2) is now available. This version improves formatting and user experience for Cloud Functions parameter and secret prompts, updates the Firebase SQL Connect local toolkit to v3.4.20, and fixes 2nd gen Firebase Authentication triggers in the local Cloud Functions and Authentication emulators.

SDK Releases

• The Firebase Apple SDK (v12.19.2) is now available. For more details, see the Firebase Apple SDK release notes. To install this SDK, see Add Firebase to your app. This release is available via Swift Package Manager only.

• The Firebase SDK for Unity (v13.17.0) is now available. This release includes a bug fix in Analytics and other changes.

• The Firebase Admin Python SDK (v7.6.0) is now available. This release includes support for replay protection in App Check and deprecations in Firebase ML ahead of the service turndown on June 15, 2027. To install this SDK, see Add the Firebase Admin SDK to your server.

Cloud Functions

• Cloud Functions for Firebase (2nd gen) now supports Firebase Authentication event triggers. You can use the onUserCreated and onUserDeleted event handlers from firebase-functions/v2/identity to trigger functions in response to user account creation and deletion events. This release includes support for CloudEvents data payloads, Identity Platform multi-tenancy scoping using IS_NOT_TENANT, and compatibility destructuring for 1st gen migrations. SDK Releases

• The Firebase SDK for C++ (v13.13.0) is now available. This release includes miscellaneous changes.

Firebase AI Logic

• Firebase AI Logic now lets you run your own custom server-side scripts before and after every request. You implement these scripts as functions deployed to Cloud Functions for Firebase, and they'll trigger for every generateContent request that your app sends to the Gemini API via Firebase AI Logic. You can use this capability for many use cases, like moderating prompts, capping token usage, logging generations for analytics, redacting response content, etc. — all without modifying your client-side code.

SDK Releases

• The Firebase Admin Node.js SDK (v14.4.0) is now available. This release includes deprecations in Firebase ML ahead of the service turndown on June 15, 2027. Firebase AI Logic

• Firebase AI Logic supports the latest Gemini stable model gemini-3.8-flash. You can directly access this model in your mobile or web app via either the Gemini Developer API or the Agent Platform Gemini API (formerly Vertex AI).

  • If you're using the Gemini Developer API, accessing this model does not require the pay-as-you-go Blaze pricing plan.

  • If you're using the Agent Platform Gemini API (formerly Vertex AI) with the legacy "Vertex AI" initialization syntax, make sure to set the location in your request to global.

  • If you're migrating from previous models, note the following for this new model:

    • No support for MINIMAL thinking level: gemini-3.8-flash does not support the MINIMAL thinking level. If you set the thinking level to MINIMAL for this model, the request will fail with a 400 error.

    • Use thinking levels instead of thinking budgets: Thinking budgets have been supported by Gemini 3.x models for backwards-compatibility. However, starting with gemini-3.8-flash, they are strongly discouraged. If you haven't already, migrate to use thinking levels. …

Remote Config

• Starting September 1, 2026, Remote Config offers a usage-based pricing structure based on daily fetch request volume. Every project includes a no-cost tier of up to 100,000 daily fetch requests, with pay-as-you-go pricing on the Blaze plan for usage exceeding this threshold. All features (including Personalization, Rollouts, and A/B Testing integration) remain included across both Spark and Blaze plans at no additional cost. A/B Testing

• A/B Testing is now integrated directly into Remote Config as a native feature, bringing experiments into the core Remote Config template lifecycle. To learn more, see Create Firebase Remote Config experiments with A/B Testing and the A/B Testing troubleshooting and FAQ guide.

Firebase AI Logic

• Firebase AI Logic now supports the us and eu locations. When you use the Agent Platform Gemini API (formerly Vertex AI) (and depending on the model), you can choose where to access the model to meet your compliance, latency, availability, and durability requirements.

  Note that Firebase AI Logic defaults to the following locations:

  • When using the new "Agent Platform" initialization syntax: global
  • When using the legacy "Vertex AI" initialization syntax: us-central1

Imagen models

• All Imagen models shut down on August 17, 2026 (note that this shutdown date was extended from the previous June 30, 2026).

  To accommodate this shutdown, we've removed all Imagen APIs from the Firebase AI Logic SDKs and documentation.

  This shutdown date is applicable to both the Gemini Developer API (Google AI) and the Agent Platform Gemini API (formerly Vertex AI). As a replacement, you can migrate your apps to use a Gemini Image model (like one of the "Nano Banana" models).

  If you use Imagen models via Firebase AI Logic, you can migrate your apps to use a Gemini Image model to restore service. Models that are shut down are no longer accessible or supported by Google, and a request using a shutdown model name returns a 404 error.

SDK Releases

• The Firebase SDK for Unity (v13.16.0) is now available. This release includes new features in Firebase AI, FCM, and Remote Config; changes to Firebase AI; bug fixes in Firebase AI and Cloud Functions; and other changes and fixes.

Firebase AI Logic

• Firebase AI Logic now supports generating structured output (like JSON and enums) when using hybrid / on-device inference in Android apps.

SDK Releases

Firebase AI Logic

• Firebase AI Logic supports the latest Gemini stable model gemini-3.7-flash. You can directly access this model in your mobile or web app via either the Gemini Developer API or the Agent Platform Gemini API (formerly Vertex AI).

      • Temperature, top-K, or top-P: All the general-use Gemini 3.x will ignore them. …
