Prisma 8.0.0-rc.16: Toolchain nutzt @prisma/cli-engine 0.6.3

Die Toolchain benötigt jetzt @prisma/cli-engine 0.6.3, das nur eine ArkType-Kopie mit den Prisma-ORM-Paketen teilt (behebt Fehler bei prisma orm init und prisma contract emit nach Bun-Installation), und ein von PSL abgelehntes @default wird nun am geschriebenen Wert samt Korrekturhinweis gemeldet.

This release moves the toolchain to @prisma/cli-engine 0.6.3, which shares one ArkType copy with the Prisma ORM packages. With engine 0.6.2, a fresh Bun install could resolve two ArkType copies, and prisma orm init and prisma contract emit then failed on a valid contract. A @default that PSL refuses is now reported at the written value, with a message that says what to write instead.

The upgrade recipes for this hop: the app recipe and the extension recipe. Each breaking change below names the change id to look for in them.

  • The toolchain requires @prisma/cli-engine 0.6.3. A project or extension that pins @prisma/cli-engine itself must move the pin from 0.6.2 to 0.6.3. Prisma 8.0.0-rc.15: Datentypen im Contract, Scopes und neue Middleware

In SQL-Contracts nennt jede Spalte nun ihren Datentyp wie pg/text, Codecs prüfen alle gespeicherten Werte, und es kommen unter anderem Scopes, Zeilensperren im typisierten SQL-Builder, eine afterTransaction-Middleware-Stufe, Cache-Invalidierung, this.renameTable in Migrationen, null-Elemente in Listen sowie Hover, Go to Definition und Find References im PSL-Language-Server hinzu.

In this release, each column in a SQL contract names its data type, such as pg/text, in place of the type name the database prints. One script and prisma db sign upgrade a project. Codecs now check every value a contract stores, and a field's type in the contract matches its column. Custom collection classes keep their methods through the chain, and scopes let you share a piece of a query across models. The typed SQL builder can lock the rows a select reads. Middleware gains an afterTransaction stage, and the cache middleware gains invalidation. A hand-written migration can rename a table with this.renameTable. Lists can hold null elements. The PSL language server adds hover, go to definition and find references.

The upgrade recipes for this hop: the app recipe and the extension recipe. Each breaking change below names the change id to look for in them. Run the data-type-in-contract script (change contract-stores-data-type) before any other step that emits a contract again.

Symfony 8.2 includes lots of performance improvements, but we keep looking for new opportunities to make your applications faster.

For example, Symfony creates the event dispatcher at runtime for every request by calling addListener() for each listener and wrapping it in a closure, even for events that the request never dispatches. But Symfony already knows your application's event listeners when it compiles the container, so this work can be done ahead of time.

Compiled Event Dispatcher

In Symfony 8.2, the event_dispatcher service is a CompiledEventDispatcher. It receives an array of listener service IDs and methods, in the order they run, and a service locator to load them when needed. PHP's OPcache stores the array in shared memory, so each request doesn't need its own copy. …

Fixes

  • Clean up connections rejected by target_session_attrs immediately so an unresponsive rejected host cannot delay the selected connection, and cleanup tasks cannot outlive the event loop. Rejected connections are aborted without waiting for a graceful disconnect; servers may log "unexpected EOF on client connection" if the Terminate message is not delivered before the transport closes.

If you've ever needed to run an event listener before one provided by Symfony or a third-party bundle, you had to find its priority, pick a slightly higher number and hope that priority doesn't change in a future update.

In Symfony 8.2, you can solve this in a better way: the new before and after options let you name the event listeners or tagged services that yours should run before or after.

Ordering Event Listeners

Suppose your listener sets the _locale request attribute. It needs to run before Symfony's LocaleListener reads that attribute to set the request's locale. You can now declare that directly on your listener:

Symfony 8.2: Targeted Cache-Control- und Cache-Status-Header

Symfony 8.2 unterstützt Targeted Cache-Control-Header nach RFC 9213 über die neue Methode cacheControl() auf Response sowie einen Cache-Status-Header, sodass sich für CDN und Browser unterschiedliche Cache-Regeln setzen lassen.

An HTTP response can pass through several caches before it reaches the user, and you may want different rules for each one. Symfony 8.2 adds support for two HTTP headers: one to set those rules, and another to see what happened to a request.

You might want your CDN to cache a page for an hour, while keeping a much shorter cache lifetime in the browser. That's because you can purge the CDN cache when the content changes, but you can't purge the copies stored in your visitors' browsers. Targeted cache-control headers, defined in RFC 9213, let you give each cache its own rules.

For example, a CDN that supports CDN-Cache-Control uses it instead of Cache-Control. Browsers continue to use Cache-Control. In Symfony 8.2, call the new cacheControl() method on a Response with the target name (CDN, not CDN-Cache-Control):

// ...but the CDN can cache it for one hour
